Originally created in 1923, by a small European watchmaker, the Steinhausen was one of the first watches to feature calendar sub-dials displaying the day, month, year, AM/PM with stars/sun graphic and 1 numerical month flip dial. Only a handful of these rare timepieces were ever made and no one has ever attempted to recreate this classic original until now. Every facet of this incredibly handsome time piece has been painstakingly reproduced including the graceful, sweeping second hand movement, the uniquely-shaped case and buttons and the handsome ivory face, accentuated by striking roman numerals. And like the original, this mechanical automatic self-winding watch never needs batteries and never needs to be wound. It is constantly charging itself with the movement of your body. |
